Description
The Team Manager II - Investor Services at this level is generally responsible for the day to day management of one or two teams with more significant business import which provide investor services (transfer agency) to a set of hedge fund clients. This includes responsibility for ensuring that prospective investors meet eligibility, compliance and anti-money laundering guidelines during the processing of investor-related transactions, which includes subscriptions, redemptions, the generation and distribution of confirmations and statements, as well as transfers, re-registrations and distributions. This function is also responsible for reconciling trade information received with the clients expected transactions and monies received from investors. Additional responsibilities include written and oral correspondence with the fund and investors regarding AML documentation, transactions, performance and statement reporting. Representatives are also a resource for Client and Investor inquiries regarding their transactions and documentation outside of the trade processing cycle.
The incumbent will be a leader and motivator and should promote excellent client service standards, a customer focused ethos and advocate best practices at all times within the group. Ensures client satisfaction, accuracy and productivity of work, and compliance with internal policy and external regulation. May assist in process improvement for the function. The nature and number of client relationships as well as the number of assigned personnel may change due to organizational growth.
Position requires good knowledge and understanding of the alternatives industry, the business and service needs of industry participants, and an understanding of the global service delivery models with specific reference to hedge fund investor services (transfer agency). Understanding of the regulatory framework for the alternatives business is critical, in particular a detailed knowledge of all Anti Money Laundering Legislation and Compliance procedures. Familiarity with all fund prospectuses for each fund within group is necessary.
Manage, coach and develop team members, ensuring all staff are performing in line with competency standards and development potential is being identified and promoted
Set the development schedule to ensure that AIS is keeping pace with market developments and competitor product service offerings
Employ various innovative strategies to support client service and service delivery for Investor Services
Take a leadership role in identifying and resolving client service and service delivery issues for clients, Senior Leadership team members and Relationship Managers
Support the retention and growth of existing revenue streams, and provide the highest level of customer service through proactive problem resolution and by demonstrating the Company's core values
Must have ability to conduct his/herself with integrity and a desire for excellence at all times with a clear sense of personal responsibility

Must have excellent judgment. Direct client contact and nature of work impacts revenue retention and growth, and poor performance can result in significant expense.
The role will require engagement with a broad cross section of the AIS business and the broader BNYM organization. External engagement with clients & prospects in support of AIS service delivery. Must foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration across all areas of the business and with shared services partners.
Additional responsibilities to include:
Approve wires and checks through internal systems for investor and fund subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, distributions, invoices and expenses.
Read and understand fund, investor and legal documents and legal structure in order to accurately and appropriately process investor cash transactions
Oversee the review of documents for prospective and current investors required to meet authentication policies and Anti Money Laundering (AML) guidelines such as third party wires
Oversee correspondence with the fund and investors regarding cash settlements and authentication processes
Authorize bank fees to client bank accounts
Oversee expected trade information with moneys received from investors and communicate with internal Investor Services teams Lead or manage IT or operational projects pertaining to investor services

Qualifications
College Degree preferred. 6
years experience within the Financial Services including at least 2 years experience in Investor/ Transfer Agency Services, and dealing with large and institutional clients.
Knowledge of Alternative Investment Services and hedge funds.
Demonstrated experience as a successful manager.

years experience in financial services including 4
years experience in Investor/Transfer Agency Services, and dealing with large institutional clients including at least 2
years experience in Alternative Investment Services and with hedge fund clients preferred.
Demonstrated experience as a successful manager of managers preferred.
The preferred candidate will also possess
At least 2 years of management experience in Treasury and Cash services servicing large institutional clients
A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework governing alternatives, in particular a detailed knowledge of all Anti Money Laundering Legislation (AML) and other compliance procedures
